The Way Yearbook 2024

The Way's new yearbook offers an opportunity to explore the writing that we have been publishing over the last year, with articles selected from the four 2024 issues. It is an ideal introduction to The Way for new readers as well as a chance to keep in touch for those who do not subscribe regularly. It would also make a good Christmas present for anyone interested in reading more about spirituality!

The January 2024 issue focused on the politics of discernment—how the work of the Spirit operates in history through the discernments that we make. In April we produced an issue paying tribute to our former editor and longstanding contributor Philip Endean SJ, who relaunched the journal in its present form in 2003 and has been involved in so much of our work over the last twenty years. July saw our Special Issue, ‘The Body in Spirituality’, which drew on the 2024 St Beuno’s conference, ‘The Body and Prayer’, to set prayer practices in a wider spiritual and physical context, embracing sickness and well-being, sexuality, the Eucharist and incarnation among other themes. Finally, we have just published the issue for October 2024, ‘Ecclesial Creativity’, which explores the creativity necessary to reconcile the tensions between what the Church teaches and how it is believed, so that all Christians can, in Pope Francis’s words, ‘walk united with our differences’. Our first yearbook promises to bring together a diversity of voices and approaches to these different themes for new and old readers alike.
