Thomas M. McCoog SJ, A Guide to Jesuit Archives

In early 1998, Fr Thomas McCoog SJ, wrote a cover letter to all the Jesuit provincials and regional superiors, enclosing two questionnaires that he asked each provincial or superior to forward to the archivist within his province or region. One of these questionnaires requested information on the location, historical background, conditions of use, acquisitions policy, and contents of Jesuit archives; the present book is the fruit of that questionnaire. Each reply to the questionnaire is published in its original language (English, French, Italian, German, or Spanish) as well as in an English translation. Historians, linguists, theologians, anthropologists, and philosophers (to name only a few) will benefit from this book.
